Congratulations, Lady Crusaders!
The Lutheran North Girls Varsity Basketball team qualified for the State Final Four for the first time in school history! We are very proud of our Lady Crusaders on this outstanding achievement.
In the semifinal game played yesterday at the Mizzou Hearnes Center, the Lady Crusaders fell to the defending State Champions, so they will be playing for Third Place today at 4:15 in the Mizzou Arena. GO BIG NORTH!
At the Senior Breakfast today, a panel of recent LHSN graduates spoke to the current seniors all about college life – transitioning, time management, challenges, studies, fun, etc. Nothing beats first-hand information from someone you know and trust! Alumni also commented on how well prepared they were for college and how much they appreciated their Lutheran North education.
Thanks to our alumni who got up bright and early to participate: Zach Moravec, Connor Burnett, Taylor Harris, LaShae Bland, Monet Davis, and Barry Dorsey.
Chamber of Commerce
Students of the Month
Congratulations to the Crusaders recently selected to be “Students of the Month” because of their high achievement in academics, leadership, and extra-curricular activities.
Taylor Ewing was recognized at the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce luncheon and Justin Fantroy at the Northwest Chamber luncheon. We commend both of them on this honor.
Three of our LHSN International students – Dylan Sun, Chloe Liu, and Jackson Ye – had a great visit to Washington University on Feb. 24. They observed an engineering class, toured the campus with Mr. Ray Ehrhard (Senior Researcher at WashU and a North Alum), met current students as well as researcher Su Huang and toured his solar energy lab, and met the Dean of the School of Engineering. The students had a great time and look forward to going back to shadow or volunteer in a lab.
iPad Repair & Reminders
On Thursday, March 16, we will be conducting our annual school-wide iPad check to identify damaged iPads. The damaged iPads will be collected on Friday, March 17 and sent in for repair over spring break. As a reminder, the deductible for the 1st repair is $100. The cost for any subsequent damage will be the actual cost of the repair. The iPads are the property of the Lutheran High School Association and need to be kept in good condition for optimal use and safety for the students.
As in past years, families are reminded that the following criteria must be met in order to take the iPad home for the summer:
1. Must be current on tuition and fees
2. Must have registered for the 2017-2018 school year, including:
• Re-enrollment form completed online
• Registration fee paid in full
• Signed up for SMART Tuition for the 17-18 school year
3. iPad does not have any damage
We thank you for your continued support of Lutheran North!

As usual, there will be a breakfast treat and an attendance prize drawing. If you’re a meeting regular or if you have never attended a meeting before, we hope you can join us for some Lutheran North Mom Time!
Remember, orders are now being taken for Crusader spiritwear with the Moms’ Club logo. Golden Paddle Quarter Auction
All LHSN supporters (over 21 years old) are invited to the Golden Paddle Quarter Auction on Friday, March 31, in the Crusader Cafe at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). To make a reservation, please send $10 per person to the school office. Golden paddles will be available for $30 the night of the event. Please bring an abundance of quarters and an appetizer to share. The Mothers’ Club will provide nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks, desserts and fun!
There are wonderful auction items, such as (4) Cardinal tickets to Lutheran High Day at Busch Stadium! If you would like to donate an item, please email Jackie Branneky, email@example.com. All proceeds go to the LHSN Mothers’ Club to purchase non-budget items for the school, students, and staff.
How does the Golden Paddle Quarter Auction work? When you arrive the night of this fun event you will be given a paddle with a number on it. When the auction begins the emcee will show and describe a wonderful auction item. The emcee will then tell the crowd how many quarters to place in the bucket sitting in the center of each table to be eligible to win that item. A number will be drawn and called out. Whoever has that number AND placed their quarter(s) in the bucket, WINS! If the holder of the number called did NOT place quarters in the bucket for that item, they lose out and another number will be called for that item. To make sure you don’t miss out on winning any of the auction items, Golden Paddles (with numbers on them) will be available at the door the night of the event for $30. By purchasing a Golden Paddle you don’t have to place any quarters into the bucket. You will automatically WIN any item(s) drawn having your golden paddle’s number. If you have any questions or donations, please email Jackie Branneky firstname.lastname@example.org.
