Saturday was the Cross Country meet at Spanish Lake. The Crusader guys finished 5th and the ladies 7th in the 11-school District fields. State Qualifiers included Isaac Stout in 5th and Joel Brutlag in 15th. Rayonna Pollvogt led the ladies in 17th. Special thanks to the faculty and staff and parents who helped make the double district a great success. The next meet is Saturday on the Oak Hill course in Jeff City. Race time is 12:25.

It is not too late to join the fun: going on NOW is the LN Walk for Wellness. This competition will last until November 4 and consist of counting laps walked or run around the track after school. Laps will be recorded individually and tallied for class totals. There will be rewards for top class individuals as well as the top class total. Come out and Walk for Wellness this week from 3:00–4:30.

This spring, Lutheran North will venture INTO THE WOODS for the musical!  Auditions for the musical will be on Wednesday, November 9 and Thursday, November 10 after school.  Audition packets and audition time sign up forms are outside of the music room.  You will have something to read and a singing portion of the audition.  If you have additional questions, please see Miss Bork or Mr. Scheller.  Don’t wait for the last midnight to sign up!

Juniors are reminded that you must return your signed permission slip and $3 fee to Mrs. McFarland no later than Tuesday, November 1st.  If we do not have your permission slip and fee, you will not be leaving campus on November 3rd.

Start out by going to OnCampus and look for the topic LADY CRUSADERS. You will then be able to apply online through a Google form. You will also need to send a letter of recommendation from one of your teachers. Practices will be Nov. 14-16 and you will have two days of tryouts on the 17th & 18th. The varsity football team is playing Cardinal Ritter this Saturday in the 2nd round of district playoffs. In honor of October/Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this week’s theme is a Pink Out Game. Any student who shows up in pink will be entered into a halftime drawing to win Crusader Spirit wear. Student Council is also raising money to donate to the Divine Courage organization. At the game on Saturday, you will be able to purchase extra raffle tickets and pink beads for $1. Help Student Council cheer the football team on to another playoff win and support this worthy organization.

If you missed the NHS tutoring session this week, have no fear – you may join us next week or any Wednesday morning – in room 211 beginning at 8:00.

Being a Lady Crusader just might be for you! The Lady Crusaders perform at halftime during basketball games, pep rallies, and compete at the annual St. Charles Classic Competition in January. Come find out if you’re dance team material by attending our annual tryouts!

ATTENTION ALL GIRLS interested in playing basketball this winter:  There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday morning, October 26 at 8:05 am.  Please meet in room 109 – if you can not make it, please see Coach Fehrs ASAP.

Friday on the Spanish Lake circuit the squad hosted the Metro League Meet.  Both teams finished 6th of the 8 schools entered.  Nine ran personal bests, the guys running the fastest team time since 2012 and the ladies the fastest team time since 2014.  Isaac Stout earned All League honors in 3rd place.  The next meet is District at Spanish Lake next Saturday morning.  Special thanks to the parents, staff and former students for helping out, and eight brave football souls and Mr. Mirth who helped bail Mr. Prahlow and Mr. Mac’s van out of the mud hole.

Congratulations to Kate Zorich!  She has been accepted at Crowder College.

 

Congratulations to Precious Clark!  She has been accepted at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  

 

The PSAT will be administered tomorrow, October 19, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  All registered students need to be at school in their assigned room BY 8:00.  It will NOT be a late start day for students taking the test.  Bring sharpened pencils and your fully charged calculator.  Get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. REPORT TO ROOM 108!
